Loire Uncorked |
I loved the mix of vintners & appreciated being taken to smaller family domains and speaking to the people who work with the wine daily. Today's tour fortuitously focused on different stages of the winemaking process, which made the day even more special as far as understanding the whole venture. Thanks for taking care to select each domain according to our interests and level of experience. A+. Mrs Lynch, New York. |
Ever wondered just how wine is made? Do they still tread the grapes? What makes a good wine really great or a cheap wine nasty? Here at Loire Uncorked our wine tours explain the process, give you the pleasure to taste which wines you really enjoy and so make an informed decision. We want to dispel the myth that wine tasting is a bit pretentious. Our wine tours are fun but at the same time informative and suitable for newcomers and old hands alike. The Loire region is noted for it's fantastic range of wines. Imagine, you'll be picked up from your hotel or gite, taken along the beautiful Loire countryside, passing fairytale chateau, Trolglodyte cave dwellings, watching the pavement cafes bustling with locals then you'll be taken to some fantastic vineyards. Here in the Loire there are some great wines, still realistically priced unlike some Burgundies and Bordeaux but every bit as interesting, many better, some, world class. You can top up your cellar, get some great bubbly for that family celebration or just buy some great wine to take home, whatever you like. After visiting a couple of vineyards you'll have a delicious local lunch in one of our specially selected restaurants. Replete, you will visit your last vineyard of the day. Then you'll be dropped off back at your hotel or gite and left to muse on the day and maybe even sample one of the scrummy bottles you bought along the way. What better way to spend a day? If you would like to give one of our great wine tours as an unforgettable gift then we can arrange that. Have a look on our 'Tours' page for further details. |
